In the seventh century BC, the first coins were imported into Afghanistan. These were followed by a whole zipper of coins depending on the ruler of that moment. There were, among others, the Scythians, the Parthians, the Kushana, the Huns and the Turks, each with their own coins. The first form of the modern Afghan Afghani followed in 1747.
